The inverter is not a battery backup it is a conduit from the car battery to your electronic devices. This power inverter comes with a car cigarette lighter plug and a pair of alligator battery clamps, very convenient indeed for plugging into car's cigarette lighter port or connect it to your car battery directly, And easily changed by unscrewing terminals with fingers.

Be aware of your car's fuses(Most is 15A), most car‘s 12v cigarette lighter port is fused at 150W, due to the battery output voltage is 10-15V, then formula P=UI(150W=10V(Min) x 15A), so you won't be able to pull more than 150W if connect with car‘s 12V cigarette lighter ports; unless you plug directly into car's battery.
