Since the early 1930s, Bridgestone has been one of Japan's premier corporations, with a lasting commitment to superior design, manufacturing, and quality. Founded by Shojiro Ishibashi, Bridgestone was modeled along the quality-control ideas of American engineer W. Bridgestone bought US manufacturer Firestone, vastly expanding their research and development, manufacturing, and distribution network.
