Manufacturing Process
Designed and engineered in North America, Spectra Premium Fuel Modules are made with POM plastic for better durability.
The assembly of every component of the fuel pump is fully automated to ensure precise manufacturing and calibration of the electric and magnetic components. The automated assembly provides an advantage in assembling the improved turbine that is quieter, more tolerant of debris and, as a result, more durable.
Quality Standard
Under the ISO 9001 quality framework implemented by a highly-trained workforce, the fuel pump is then assembled with the fuel module elements: float arm, fuel limit vent valve, oetiker clamps, rheostat card, and fuel strainer.
Rigorous In-House Testing
- Fuel pump flow rate tested on assembly line
- Each float arm tested to ensure precise fuel level reading

Caution during replacement
- Fuel is highly flammable
- Work in a well-ventilated area away from sparks and open flames
- Depressurize the fuel delivery system before attempting any service
- Have a calls B fire extinguisher close by
Installation steps summary
- Read carefully all instructions before attempting any operation
- Depressurize the fuel system and disconnect the battery
- Disconnect electrical connectors and fuel lines
- Carefully lower to fuel tank to remove the module
- Replace the new O-ring
- Install the fuel module without damaging float arm and strainer
- Install the lock ring and reinstall the tank
- Refill the tank and pressurize the fuel system by cycling the key ON several times without starting
Maintenance
- Contamination is the leading cause of fuel pump failure
- Always replace with a new filter and strainer
- Do not allow the pump to run dry
- Clean fuel tank and inspect filler neck for rust before replacing
